Holy Guacamole!

It’s National Avocado Day! Did you know that avocados contain more potassium than bananas, are loaded with fiber and can help lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels? We are thrilled to share our favorite (and simplest) guacamole recipe with you.



  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 Tbsp of fresh lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp to 1/4 minced red onion
  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro (leaves and tender stems), finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 ripe tomato, seeds and pulp removed, chopped.

1 Cut avocado, remove flesh: Cut the avocados in half.  Our favorite trick for removing the pit is to stick a sharp knife directly into the center of the pit and wiggle it out. Scoop out the flesh with a spoon.

2 Mash with a fork: Using a fork, roughly mash the avocado to a slightly chunky consistency.

3 Add Remaining ingredients: Sprinkle with salt and lime juice.

Add the chopped onion, cilantro, black pepper,tomato  and garlic.

4 Cover and Refrigerate until ready to serve….

Enjoy with chips or freshly cut veggies for a healthier take on this simple but satisfying treat!
